On September 16th at 1:15pm Patrolman Jim Purcell arrested Joseph Wantuch III, 44, of Barnegat for DWI after responding to a report of a man crawling on the ground and climbing into a car at the Barnegat Municipal Dock.
Ptl. Purcell located the vehicle parked at the dock and found Wantuch in the vehicle. After an investigation Wantuch was placed under arrest. His vehicle was impounded for 12 hours in accordance with John’s Law. He was processed and released with summonses for DWI, refusal to submit breath samples, and reckless driving.

On September 21st at 3:03am, K9 Officer Robert Armstrong arrested Anthony Torres, 27, of Barnegat for DWI after stopping Torres’s vehicle on Gunning River Road for speeding. Torres’s vehicle was impounded for 12 hours in accordance with John’s Law. He was processed and released with summonses for DWI, reckless driving, and speeding.
